Ask a Geneticist
Something new and interesting i found out was that chimps and humans are almost so similar they have almost the same genes. There really isn't a relationship between chromosomes and genes. At one point, chimps and humans started out with the same chromosomes, but eventually later in time, some chromosomes were lost, some were gained, and some where copied. But why do humans and chimps look different? Geneticists say that the answer is hidden in the section of the genosome that doesn't code for the genes. Also, genes give instructions on how to make proteins. There are many similarities between animals and humans. So, we can have genes from animals, or animals can have genes from us!
